The Congress titled “ Towards Effective, Seamlessly integrated and Affordable Artificial Organs“ takes place at the Polish Academy of Science in the premises of the Nalecz Institute for Biological Cybernetics and Biomedical Engineering (Ibbe PAS ) and the International Centre for Biological Cybernetics) and presents latest achievements in the field of artificial organ therapy, including novel biomaterials, bioartificial organs and regenerative approaches .

em-tec and Medistim ASA enter into an international cooperation

As a future technology partner and OEM supplier, em-tec benefits from the global presence of Medistim ASA

Under the License and OEM agreement, Medistim obtains exclusive, worldwide rights to market and sell products developed for non-invasive flow measurement of human blood vessels in the area of cardiac, vascular and transplant surgery, which are based on the ultrasonic transit time method (TTFM).

This technology is an ideal addition to Medistim’s product portfolio in order to reach new international markets. The introduction of the respective Medistim generation of devices is planned for 2016.

High Accuracy with em-tec BioProTT™ flow measurement system proven in customer environment

Since the late 1980s, there have been more than 20 indirect methods for measuring process flows for the bio-pharmaceutical industry. Few of these methods are well suited to single use systems. Non invasive transit-time ultrasonic flow measurement with Clamp-On technology can the achieve overall performance accuracy and repeatability required for typical process control applications. AlphaBio, Inc has evaluated three different single use system set-ups (TFF System, Isocratic Chromatography System and Gradient Chromatography System) with the em-tec BioProTT™ flow measurement system. Flow rates ranging from 2 to 16 LPM were measured and evaluated against an NIST calibrated Coriolis meter (Endress + Hauser.)  The results of this study indicate that that with proper material calibration and unit setup, flow rate measurement accuracies of less than +/- 2% of reading can be achieved.

BioProTT ™ Clamp-On Transducers

The latest generation of BioProTT™ Flow Track flow meters is now supporting flow rates of up to 100 l/min

em-tec has also released new BioProTT™ Clamp-On Transducers for larger tubing with outer diameters of up to 1-5/8″.

Our BioProTT™ FlowTrack DINrail (for installation in the control cabinet) now offers a remote zero feature with an analog pulse for ease of use if you are not using a digital interface.

Successful Development Cooperation with Sartorius Stedim Biotech

Sartorius Stedim Biotech, a leading international pharmaceutical and biotech equipment supplier, has entered into a global development cooperation agreement with em-tec. As part of this cooperation, the technology base of em-tec will be extended by jointly developed single-use components, such as FlowTube. Sartorius will exclusively market these as applications and distribute them worldwide as private label products under the brand name of BioPAT®Flow.
