EXPERTS IN NON-INVASIVE FLOW MEASUREMENT
With our BioProTTTM flow measurement system we are offering a precise solution for reliable non-invasive liquid flow measurement for flexible tubing. It is ideal for use in bioprocesses and other processes with strict hygienic needs. We are glad to present our bioprocessing portfolio and meet key biologic manufacturers and customers from across Europe and the rest of the world at the BioProduction Congress in Dublin.
em-tec GmbH is an experienced partner and provider of components and developments for contactless flow measurement in medical devices and implants. We are going to demonstrate our know-how at the XLIII Annual ESAO Congress in Warsaw, where latest achievements in the field of artificial organ therapy, including novel biomaterials, bioartificial organs and regenerative approaches will be presented.
As a future technology partner and OEM supplier, em-tec benefits from the global presence of Medistim ASA
Under the License and OEM agreement, Medistim obtains exclusive, worldwide rights to market and sell products developed for non-invasive flow measurement of human blood vessels in the area of cardiac, vascular and transplant surgery, which are based on the ultrasonic transit time method (TTFM).
This technology is an ideal addition to Medistim’s product portfolio in order to reach new international markets. The introduction of the respective Medistim generation of devices is planned for 2016.
Since the late 1980s, there have been more than 20 indirect methods for measuring process flows for the bio-pharmaceutical industry. Few of these methods are well suited to single use systems. Non invasive transit-time ultrasonic flow measurement with Clamp-On technology can the achieve overall performance accuracy and repeatability required for typical process control applications. AlphaBio, Inc has evaluated three different single use system set-ups (TFF System, Isocratic Chromatography System and Gradient Chromatography System) with the em-tec BioProTT™ flow measurement system. Flow rates ranging from 2 to 16 LPM were measured and evaluated against an NIST calibrated Coriolis meter (Endress + Hauser.) The results of this study indicate that that with proper material calibration and unit setup, flow rate measurement accuracies of less than +/- 2% of reading can be achieved.
em-tec has partnered with Aquasyn LLC, a provider of highly innovative standard, as well as customized, fluid control solutions such as valves and associated components for the biotech and pharmaceutical markets. The ARTeSYN® brand of single use process fluid control valves and related components sets a new standard in single use flow control technology, making them a perfect partner for em-tec’s BioProTT™ FlowTrack flow meters. Aquasyn will sell em-tec‘s BioProTT™ flow measurement systems in most of North and South America. For more information, or a dealer near you, visit www.aquasyn.com.
The latest generation of BioProTT™ Flow Track flow meters is now supporting flow rates of up to 100 l/min
em-tec has also released new BioProTT™ Clamp-On Transducers for larger tubing with outer diameters of up to 1-5/8″.
Our BioProTT™ FlowTrack DINrail (for installation in the control cabinet) now offers a remote zero feature with an analog pulse for ease of use if you are not using a digital interface.
German-based em-tec GmbH has been developing and manufacturing products at its location in Finning for the medical industry for nearly thirty years. The company meets the highest quality management requirements. Its focus is on lifesustaining devices, primarily in the field of cardiac surgery, with developments in the field of heart-lung machines and cardiac support systems.
One of the company’s core competences is in the field of non-invasive flow measurement using the transit time ultrasound principle. Based on this technology, em-tec offers products and components for medical and non-medical uses, such as for cardiovascular surgery, for use in laboratories and bioprocesses and in other industrial applications where flexible tubing is used.
Sartorius Stedim Biotech, a leading international pharmaceutical and biotech equipment supplier, has entered into a global development cooperation agreement with em-tec. As part of this cooperation, the technology base of em-tec will be extended by jointly developed single-use components, such as FlowTube. Sartorius will exclusively market these as applications and distribute them worldwide as private label products under the brand name of BioPAT®Flow.
Our quality management system (certified to ISO 13485) provides for a correct, complete documentation of the project and ensures that all the strict guidelines that apply to medical device manufacturers are observed throughout the development process. Customers are thus well prepared for approval. We have experience in all classes of CE and FDA approvals. We have experience in all classes of CE and FDA approvals.
